The all-electric 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is storming across Canada with its incredible safety, technology, design, and innovation.
Key Features
You cannot talk about the F-150 Lightning without first mentioning its incredible all-electric performance. While many think that electric vehicles cannot match the power of gas-fueled ones, that is simply not the case. The Extended-Range F-150 Lightning delivers 563 horsepower, 775 lb-ft of torque, and a 4,535kg towing capability. This is in addition to the 4.4-second 0-to-97km/h acceleration time, standard all-wheel drive, and 482 all-electric driving range. The Standard-Range model delivers 426 horsepower and 370km all-electric driving range.
Other key features include the fact that the initial rollout of the F-150 Lightning will only feature one model--a crew cab with a 5.5-foot bed. This design is incredibly similar to the gas-powered F-150 models; however, it offers a large front trunk cargo bay and upgraded interior dashboard layout featuring a vertical touchscreen infotainment display and key technology features, such as smartphone connectivity and more.
Ford also emphasizes safety in the 2022 F-150 Lightning, providing standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. A hands-free driving experience is also possible with the available BlueCruise, and buyers can also use their truck as a generator in the case of a power outage thanks to Ford Intelligent backup power.
