2021 Ford Ranger | Regina

The Ford Ranger has earned an impressive share of the mid-size pickup market since it was reintroduced in 2019. Combining power, comfort, and technology at an affordable price, it's a welcome return to form for the venerable Ranger nameplate. We have the latest 2021 release ready and waiting for a test drive at our Regina dealership, and here are the highlights you can expect to enjoy.

What's New for 2021

The Ranger's underlying engineering is unchanged for 2021, but cosmetic changes include the Tremor package, optional black 18" wheels and a matching grille. What's more, the range of exterior colours has been expanded, with the standout addition being an eye-catching Cyber Orange.

Classic Pickup Design

The Ranger sticks close to the traditional pickup format and looks all the better for it. The back-sweeping headlights and relatively small grille give it a more modern appearance than some other Ford trucks, but overall it's still a traditional but great-looking pickup. There are two cab formats available: the two-door SuperCab and the four-door SuperCrew.

Performance Under the Hood

The Ranger is powered by a hefty 2.3L turbo I-4 engine pushing out 270 horsepower and 310lb-ft of torque, offering plenty of performance for the light-to-medium duty category. The raw power translates into an attractive payload capacity of 750kg and a maximum towing weight of 3,409kg. And while all this is impressive enough, if you plan to take the Ranger off-road, you need to take a look at the Tremor package. This optional upgrade adds monotube suspension, locking rear differential, higher ground clearance, and more.

Advanced, User-Friendly Infotainment

If you want a no-frills truck with a simple cabin, the entry-level XL trim is the one to choose. But move up to the higher trims and you'll find advanced infotainment features including an 8" touchscreen with in-built navigation, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot, and full smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Active Safety Systems

As with all modern Ford vehicles, the list of active safety systems included with the Ranger is impressive. Standard and available highlights include:

  • Forward-collision warnings with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking.
  • Lane departure warnings with keep assist.
  • Rear cross-traffic alerts.
  • Automatic traction control and electronic stability control.
